GeNext MedEd Foundation — Governance Framework

Document code: GMEF-GOV-001
Version: 1.0
Status: Institutional working framework

Governance intent
GeNext MedEd Foundation operates as an academic and medical-education institution. Its governance separates institutional authority, academic responsibility, programme operations, digital participation, partner roles and external statutory/institutional authority.

Governance layers
1. Foundation governance
Defines mission, institutional standards, approved programmes, documentation control, public accountability, archive standards and strategic academic direction.

2. Academic governance
Defines faculty and mentor roles, academic communities, curriculum standards, assessment expectations, research standards, academic integrity and scholarly output pathways.

3. Programme governance
Each fellowship, observership, workshop, conference, research initiative or institutional collaboration has a named programme structure, responsible persons, scope, records, review points and completion/archive requirements.

4. External authority
Host institutions, IEC/IRB bodies, regulators, universities, professional councils, conference authorities, journals and other competent authorities retain their own powers. Foundation committees do not substitute for those authorities.

5. Digital governance
GeNext Connect provides identity, participation, collaboration, workflow and record continuity. It does not independently convert an unapproved activity into an approved institutional, ethics or regulatory activity.

Core governance principles
- Role clarity and documented responsibility.
- Conflict-of-interest awareness and disclosure.
- Academic independence from commercial visibility.
- Privacy, consent and minimum-necessary access.
- Version-controlled institutional records.
- Traceable decisions and programme records.
- Appropriate escalation to competent external authority.
- Preservation of institutional history without presenting superseded material as current.

Standing governance domains
- Institutional & Documentation Governance
- Education, Fellowship & Mentorship Governance
- Research & Academic Integrity Governance
- Conferences & Scientific Programme Governance
- Academic Resource Library & Archive Governance
- Institution Collaboration Governance
- Digital Identity, Data & Platform Governance

Review
This framework should be refined as the Foundation formalises committees, authorised office-bearers, institutional collaborations and programme approvals. Public pages must distinguish confirmed governance from developing structures.
