No individual research study is marked Active or Approved in this register yet. The Foundation has established the Research Connect operating framework, governance checklist, project register template, protocol template, authorship/contribution standard and academic-community model. Individual studies will be entered only when a real research question/project is formally registered with sufficient governance information.

Registration threshold for the next real project
A study should receive its own Research ID only after the following are recorded: working title/question, accountable lead, host/participating institution(s), study category, protocol status/version, preliminary governance determination, data plan and applicable ethics/regulatory pathway. A project may be registered at Idea or Protocol stage without implying approval to recruit, access records or collect data.

Stage gates
Idea registration → protocol development → scientific review → ethics/regulatory requirements as applicable → collaboration/data agreements → activation → progress review → analysis → authorship confirmation → dissemination/publication → closure/archive.

Research integrity
Registration on GeNext does not substitute for ethics committee approval, trial registration, institutional permission, consent or other legal/regulatory requirements. Patient-level or identifiable research data must never be stored in this public-facing register.
