INSTITUTION STANDARD

Identity, authority and academic capability must be distinguishable.

Institution Connect verifies who the organisation is, who may act for it, what capabilities are represented and which collaborations are currently authorised.

PROFILE STANDARD

The institutional record has four layers.

Identity

Official name, type, location, contact information, public identifiers and verification evidence.

Authority

Authorised representatives and role-based users who may maintain the profile or approve specific institutional actions.

Capabilities

Departments, faculty, clinical/academic facilities, teaching capacity, research support and other declared resources.

Collaborations

Approved programmes, research projects, events, resources and historical academic relationships.

ROLE MODEL

Institutional access should follow responsibility.

Institution owner / authorised administrator
Academic lead
Department lead
Programme director
Programme coordinator
Faculty / mentor
Research site PI / investigator
Event / academic coordinator
Resource contributor / curator
Read-only institutional representative
VERIFICATION

Different claims require different evidence.

01

Identity review

Confirm the organisation and its official/authorised contact route.

02

Representative authority

Confirm that the person requesting administrative control is authorised to represent the institution for the stated purpose.

03

Capability review

Review only those departments, facilities, affiliations or capabilities that will be publicly represented or used for a programme.

04

Collaboration approval

Each programme, research site or event receives its own role/permission record; profile verification alone does not approve every activity.

05

Periodic reconfirmation

Time-sensitive contacts, roles, permissions and public claims are reviewed and can be suspended or archived.

PROGRAMME HOSTING

A host-centre record should be programme-specific.

Programme title/type
Host department/site
Responsible institutional authority
Academic lead / programme director
Coordinator
Faculty / supervisors
Learner capacity
Facilities / learning environment
Permitted learner roles
Clinical governance / credentialing route
Safety / confidentiality / consent framework
Cohort dates and status
Completion / record responsibilities
Review / renewal date
PUBLIC CLAIMS

Verification should not become endorsement inflation.

The platform should state the exact relationship: host institution, participating institution, academic collaborator, research site, conference authority, venue, event manager, technology partner or other defined role. Listing an institution does not imply accreditation, ownership, endorsement or partnership beyond the recorded relationship.

Institution Connect supplies the organisational graph behind GeNext.

Professionals, programmes, projects, events and resources can then connect to verified institutional nodes instead of relying on free-text affiliations.
